NS Adopt A Highway

We had a very enjoyable Volunteer Information Session on Saturday, April 16th at the Milford Recreation Centre. We were happy to have participants from all areas of the province, from Cape Breton to Yarmouth! Our speakers were interesting, food was delicious and it was wonderful for the volunteers to get together and chat about their experiences with the AAH program.

Presenters included Len Giffen, from Lions Cubs International, Charlynne Robertson with the Clean Foundation, and Gerard MacLellan from the Electronics Products Recycling Association.
We also had some AAH volunteer groups and program partners share their thoughts on the program including the Coldbrook Lions Club, Milford & District Lions Club, and Darcey MacBain from the Dept. of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. A update on developments in Lunenburg County was read from the LaHave River Watershed Enhancement Foundation.
We were fortunate to be able to have an informative tour of the Enfield Water Treatment Plant

Our refreshments and BBQ lunch were provided by the Milford & District Lions Club and everything was thoroughly enjoyed by those in attendance.  The Milford Recreation Centre was a wonderful venue, and it is certainly an asset to the area.
Thanks to everyone who helped out, and to the volunteers who were able to attend the event.
