We are so pleased to announce our first ever Adopt-A-Highway Volunteer Recognition Awards Luncheon! This year Divert NS (formerly known as RRFB Nova Scotia) is celebrating its 20th anniversary.  They are observing this momentous occasion, and they are asking their partners and the programs they support to celebrate with them.  Divert NS has achieved amazing things over the last 20 years, and in recognition of this, we are giving credit to volunteers in our program that have done amazing things in their own way.

We are in the process of planning an awards luncheon, and we are inviting our volunteer groups to join in the event.  We will present awards to recognize groups that are not only doing well in our program, but are excelling and going above and beyond with roadside cleanups across the province. We will also mark the efforts of groups that have been with our program since the very beginning, performing their litter pickups for the past 23 years!  It will take place at the Holiday Inn in Truro on September 21st.

We are very excited to have Silver Donald Cameron as our keynote guest speaker. Silver Donald has an incredible history as an author and environmentalist, and receives rave reviews for his speaking engagements. He is in the process of starting a cross – Canada tour promoting his new book (Warrior Lawyers: From Manila to Manhattan, Attorneys for the Earth), and documentary film (GreenRights: the Human Right to a Healthy World).  We feel very fortunate that our event fit into his schedule, and this dynamic speaker is able to join us for our celebration.

We would like to remind our AAH Volunteer groups that have received an invitation to our event that the RSVP deadline is this Wednesday, August 17th.  We hope that many of our participants will be able to attend this extra special occasion!
